Are you ready for the New Year?

I can still taste

Hi Beautiful People!

2014 has seemed to just fly by for me,  as my friend Monique would say ” I can still taste the Champagne from last New Years Eve!”

I feel like I did not accomplish ever thing that I wanted to in 2014. Ever since December hit;  I was kind of feeling like, what the heck did I do this year…I felt like I was becoming very overwhelmed with things that I thought that I needed to do by the end of this year with so little time. So I have finally come to the conclusion that I need to just let it all go and not worry about the  things that I did not accomplish and the things that I could not control this year. JUST LET IT GO!

Now that I have started to LET IT ALL GO, I have become very excited and ready to take on 2015. I have started doing the activities that I need to do to make 2015 a successful year, mentally, physically, and financially. I am so ready to tackle 2015 head on.

Are you ready for the New Year? Let’s tackle 2015 together!

Nail Polish LOVE

I must admit, I have a bit of a nail polish obsession.

Nail Polish Love - VSI was going through my extensive nail polish collection today looking for a nice light pink color to paint my nails, and I decided to use the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail polish in the color 160 Mauve It. Mind you this nail polish has been sitting unused in my collection forever. I have never really used Sally Hansen nail polishes as I was stuck on using a few of my other go to brands.

With that being said, I am so glad that I decided to use this nail polish.  I must say I am loving yes LOVING this nail polish and the color. The nail polish goes on so smooth, it dries so quick, and it is very inexpensive,  I mean what’s not to love about that. This Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail polish is the business *in my Wendy Williams voice*.

Just thought I would share, have  a Fabulous Saturday!

Life is too short to…

Life is too short to...

Life is too short to…care about what other people think of you.

As I get older, I have come to the realization that I just don’t care *throwing my hand up*.  I don’t care about what other people think of me. I don’t care what people have to say about me. I don’t care if you don’t like the way I speak. I just don’t care anymore LOL!

There was a time in my life that I worried so much about these things. I cared so much about being what everyone wanted me to be, that I made myself physically sick. When I think back about all of the time I wasted trying to do and be what I thought was expected of me I can’t help but laugh.

I have learned that once you start letting it all go and stop caring and worrying about other people and their opinions of you, your life becomes so much lighter. I have found that I have opened the door for more positive people to come in to my life, and with more positivity and like-minded people comes happiness and more confidence.

I challenge you to stop caring about what other people think of you, and see how it impacts your life.

Dare to Dream

So for some reason in the past week and a half, it seems like the topic of “Dream Jobs” has been the topic of discussion. I love that people especially around my age can still dream about their “Dream Job”, but my only question is:

What is holding you back from going after you dream job?

follow your dreams

I don’t know that I really have the right to ask that question, because I am not going after my dream job either. But don’t get me wrong, if I was a stay at home wife I would go for it again. Yes AGAIN! Once upon a time I was working my dream job on a part-time basis and interning on the weekends to learn from the real professionals in the industry. In this particular industry I could not just quite my day job, as I had to pay the bills some way. And its one of those industries that you need a big cushion of money to live on until you have enough clientele on a referral basis to keep you afloat.

What is my dream job you ask…Event Planner *spirit fingers* YAAAASSSS

I took the time to take some classes to learn as much as I could about what I dreamed of doing. I had to start somewhere. I am an Accredited Certified Event Planner. After getting my certification I sat down and wrote out a plan. I figured the best way to get started was to go out and find my first client. Who happened to be a new friend of mine. It was a small 5 year anniversary party, and it turned out to be an amazing classy and fabulous event. I knew that this was it all I wanted to do was plan great weddings and events. I figured that if I wanted to perfect my craft, I needed to learn from the best of the best in my city. So I did a great deal of research and applied for an internship at Unforgettable Events. I had a chance to learn from 2 of the most amazing women in the industry.

I know most of you want to know why I am no longer actively working my dream job. Let just say I had to choose between a full-time job with steady income and benefits or working my dream job that did not provide a steady stream of income at the point and time. And of course I had to make the grown up decision.

Don’t get me wrong, if I could do it all over again I would’ve followed my dream through. From time to time I have the chance to plan events for friends, but it’s not the same. In my personal opinion I would tell anyone to find a way to follow your dreams and stick with it.

Don’t be afraid to dream, and remember dream BIG.

I like to think of myself as a naturally happy person (my personal opinion, not sure what my family and friends have to say about that), wouldn’t you rather be happy than unhappy. I would, but that’s just me.

Speaking of being happy, the song HAPPY by Pharrell OMG!!! I know it has been out for a while now but no matter how many times I have heard this song, or how I am feeling or what I am doing, when I hear this song I can’t help but get happier. What is that??? It’s like no matter what, I get this huge smile on my face and can’t help it. Sometimes I try to just sit there and listen to it as I would any other song, but it just takes over. I get to singing, dancing, and clapping, I just can’t help myself. I wonder if this happens to anyone else *

All I can say is, I enjoy being happy and this song just makes my day even better when I hear it.

I know a few people in life that could benefit from listening to this song once in a while.

Let’s get happy people!!!
